Core Beliefs

We believe…

 

• That the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)

 

• That all of humanity has fallen short of the glory of God and are guilty of sin. (Romans 3:23)

 

• That salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-10).

 

• That God exists as a Trinity: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all equally God and are distinct persons, but there is one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Revelation 5).

 

• That Jesus Christ is God incarnate, being both divine and human, born of a virgin, sinless, having died upon a cross, buried and raised from the dead bodily. (Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-5).

 

• That Baptism is for believers and should be by immersion. Communion at LBC is open  for all who have placed their faith in Jesus (Acts 8:26-38, 1 Corinthians 11:23-25)

 

• That Jesus Christ is coming again: personally, visibly, gloriously (Acts 1:11, Philippians 3:20-21)

 

• That the Bible teaches that marriage is between one man and one woman in a covenant relationship. Therefore we do not allow our pastors to perform weddings for same sex couples or allow such weddings to take place at our church. (Matthew 19: 4-5; Romans 1:26-27)
